Lakeshore has recently moved into a 27,000 square foot facility and is one of the largest gyms in the area. While we have settled in we are in the process of some renovations and additions.
The Dance area has two large studios boasting custom built dance floors.
Recreational gymnastics and preschool classes have their own dedicated equipment with 4 different bars, 5 beams, a vaulting area and use of our full-size spring floor.
There is nothing more adorable than watching our preschoolers in their very own preschool area utilizing state of the art equipment, including a large floor, 4 beams, 4 bars of various styles, vaulting Area and Tumble Track.
The Girl's Competitive Gymnastics area includes a full-size spring floor, 4 uneven bars, high bar over in-ground pit, 2 vault tables, 6 regulation balance beams, including low and floor beams, and 2 Tumble Tracks.
The Boy's Competitive Gymnastics area includes rings, 2 sets of parallel bars, 2 Pommel horses, 2 high bars (one over an in-ground pit), uneven bars, a full-size spring floor and 2 Tumble Tracks.
The Rhythmic Gymnastics Team uses a second full size spring floor.
Owner/ Director
Irene started her journey at Lakeshore when she was just a teenager studying dance, under our previous owner Sally DeAngelo. Quickly she climbed the latter from student to teacher to a manager and now to taking over the 41 year business of Lakeshore Dance and Gymnastics. In her college years Irene went to Kent State and Cleveland State University to study dance, coming home every weekend to teach at Lakershore! Back in 1999 Irene even ran the recital while pregnant with her daughter Sarah, which we are sure is why Irene was a dance & cheer mom for 18 years here at Lakeshore. Dancing is her heart and soul. Irene has always taught our babies, in dance and gymnastics. Still to this day Irene loves helping our young dancers and gymnasts by teaching around 10 classes each week when she is not running the business. Everyone knows her as Miss. Irene but now-a-days she is just Irene being a friend, mentor, mom and girl boss. Being a female business owner has been such an empowering journey for her.
